Please brush your teeth at least twice a day.
Our teeth need to be brushed at least twice a day. Also, when you brush your teeth please take some time to do it (about 2-3 minutes). When you brush your teeth, don’t forget about your tongue! Our tongue harbors bacteria so please use your toothbrush or scraper to clean your tongue well. Brushing your teeth and tongue is important tips to maintain good oral hygiene.
Don’t forget to use right equipment.
When you choose a toothpaste, use fluoride toothpaste, also toothbrush needs to be soft (soft-bristled) so it makes your teeth and gums soft and comfortable. Also, electric toothbrush can reduce plaque and gum gingivitis as well. If you don’t know what type of toothbrush can be suitable for you, consult your dentist. Please remember that it is one of the key tips that being equipped with proper tools is important in maintaining good oral hygiene.
Don’t brush your teeth aggressively.
When you hold toothbrush, give a slight angle and don’t forget to brush teeth gently. Make a circular motions and move toothbrush to the front, back, and top of all your teeth. Remember, there shouldn’t be any missing parts. Also, please avoid sawing back-and-forth motions when you brush your teeth. More importantly, brushing hard can hurt your teeth and gums. Please remember that your teeth and gums are very sensitive.
Please keep equipment clean and replace it regularly.
Always rinse your toothbrush after you finished brushing and let it be dried. Also, don’t forget to put toothbrush in an upright position. Also, even within a family, keep toothbrushes separately from each other because it can cause cross-contamination. Remember to replace it every two to three months. Do not cover your toothbrushes all the time (or put them in to containers) this can grow bacteria, yeast and even molds. It is good tip to maintain good dental hygiene.
Floss daily. It is as important as brushing
Most of my patients put efforts on brushing but neglect to floss. Floss is more than just getting out little foods between your teeth.
